Rapper Kanye West discussed his artistic ambitions with Oxford university students on Monday, admitting that he had dreams of being ‘bigger than Picasso’. The 37-year-old rapper regrets never going on to study arts and admits he has lofty ambitions.
According to foreign media reports He said, “My goal, if I was going to do art, i would have been become Picasso or greater… That always sounds so funny to people, comparing yourself to someone who has done so much, and that’s a mentality that suppresses humanity”. He added further, “If I could have done it again I would have gone to the Art Institute over the American Academy”.
As of 2013, West has won a total of 21 Grammy Awards, making him one of the most awarded artists of all time. His interest in fashion has also attracted media attention and differentiates him from other hip-hop artists.
