JAKARTA: Indonesia's vice president on Wednesday said having the rupiah trade at 12,500 per dollar was good for economic stability.
"For stability, I feel that (rupiah) at 12,500 would be good," Vice President Jusuf Kalla told reporters.
Kalla said the rupiah's recent depreciation could help exports.
The rupiah struck a 16-year low of 12,930 on Tuesday, then climbed back a bit. It was trading at 12,725 at 0540 GMT Wednesday.
