Three women polio workers shot dead in Quetta

QUETTA: Three female polio workers were shot dead by unknown gunmnen in Eastern Bypass area when they were on their way to health center to administer anti-polio drops to children, here on Wednesday.

Police officials told APP that four polio workers including three women and a man sustained multiple bullet wounds when armed assailants sprayed volley of bullets on them, leaving them seriously injured. The injured succumbed to their injuries on way to hospital.

The attackers managed to escape from the scene. The bodies of the dead were shifted to Civil hospital.

The law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area and launched efforts to trace out the culprits.
