ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq,his deputy Murtaza Javed Abbasi Friday congratulated Mujeeb-ur- Rehman Shami, Dr Jabbar Khattak on their election as President and General Secretary of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE), respectively.
In their separate congratulatory messages to Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami and Dr Jabbar Khattak, Speaker and the Deputy Speaker said that their election as President and Secretary General of the CPNE is an evidence of trust and confidence of the members of the General Council and their fraternity reposed in them.
They expressed the hope that newspapers and publication industry will progress under their guidance and would guide the Government to improve governance and formulate pro-people policies, said a press release.
They said that under the guidance of newly elected office bearers, the print media continue playing its role for creating harmony, tolerance and eliminating extremism and terrorism from the country.
