ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday summoned Sindh Senior Minister Zulfiqar Mirza to Islamabad following a controversial statement that led to large scale protests in some parts of the country.
Spokesperson of the President Farhatullah Babar said that Mirza had been summoned in the wake of controversial statement given by him last night.
The Pakistan Peoples Party has already disowned the statement and called on its rank and file to show restraint in public statements.
Mirza was asked to immediately report to the party leadership in the Federal Capital.
