ISLAMABAD: The All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) held a meeting with Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited(SNGPL) officials to discuss CNG sector's issues in order to provide relief to consumers.
The negotiations took place on the directives of Petroleum Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, says a press release issued by CNG association.
The CNG sector was represented by Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha, Chairman Supreme Council APCNGA, Central Chairman APCNGA Pervaiz Khan Khattak, Captain (retd) Shuja, Samiuddin, Majid Ansari and others.
The SNGPL officials were informed that masses, traders and industrialists had been using gas generators therefore the CNG sector should also be allowed for the same so that masses could get fuel during electricity loadshedding.
The association's chairman Ghiyas Paracha said that pressure in gas pipelines has been increased in the summer but it is being kept low in some areas.
He said that CNG stations should be allowed to work for eight hours daily instead of six and that they should continue to sell fuel for 18 hours during Sundays and Wednesdays.
"Acceptance of our demands would help us to allocate two days for private vehicles and rest to the Public Service Vehicles," he said.
The association express gratitude Petroleum Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for taking interest in resolving issues of CNG industry and consumers.
He said that all the sectors use natural gas to augment their profits while the CNG sector has no other option.
On the occasion, the negotiators of SNGPL lauded the CNG operators for abiding by the schedule.
The SNGPL said pressure had increased in the pipelines and facilitating businesses as well as masses remained top priority of the government, the added.
They informed that the recommendations forwarded by the APCNGA would be vetted thoroughly and a decision would be taken in the next two days.
