TOKYO: Japan's crude oil imports from Iran in February rose 21.7 percent from a year earlier to 1.16 million kilolitres, or 260,820 barrels per day, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) data showed on Monday.
An interim deal between Iran and six major powers last November eased some sanctions against the Islamic nation, including allowing it to maintain exports at an average of 1 million barrels per day (bpd) in return for curbs on its uranium enrichment programme.
