ISLAMABAD: Provincial Minister Mir Sadiq Umrani said on Wednesday that Gwader project will bring prosperity to the region as its people will get a source of income.
Talking to a private news channel, he said that Gwader project will help the people of the province to get jobs.
He said "China is our friendly country which always supported Pakistan in crises. We will also appreciate if the US too takes interest in investing in the project".
Sadiq said that Balochistan has a costal strip of 800 km long and this costal belt has not only one of the beautiful beaches in the world but also a port as well. For the last 62 years, this port has not been made functional.
He said Balochistan has vast natural resources but could not be utilized due to lack of facilities.
Government will welcome all those international companies that help to surface these resources, he added.
To a question about China to build a naval base at the Gwader port, he said that there is no information about such reports of offering china to build a navel base at Gwadar.
