KARACHI: `Two ships carrying containers were berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Tuesday.
Meanwhile two more ships carrying containers also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 85% at the port on Wednesday where total nine ships namely Hanjin Irene, Sealand new york, Nysted Maersk, Christos Theo, Atlantic Glory, Beacon Sin, Theo Fylaktos, Beech-4 and Feng hai 35 are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice chemical, wheat, sunflower seed, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 117279 tonnes comprising 79718 tonnes imports and 37561 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3307 containers (TEUs) was handle at the port during last hours.
