SEOUL: The South Korean won fell on Friday as the dollar benefited from strong US third-quarter growth data and the European Central Bank's surprise rate cut.
The local currency stood at 1,064.9 against the dollar at the end of onshore trade, compared to Thursday's domestic close at 1,061.4. Local exporters' dollar sales contained the won's losses, traders said.
On a weekly basis, the won fell 0.3 percent.
