KARACHI: Three ships carrying containers and cement were berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal on Monday, Port sources said here on Tuesday.
Four more ships carrying containers, furnace oil and edible oil also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 45pc at the port on Tuesday where total seven ships namely Maersk Chicago, Nysted Maersk, Contil Lapislazuli, ILC Friend Ship, Thor Harmony, Bunga Alamanda and Success Marlina are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, cement, wheat, urea and edible oil respectively.
A cargo volume of 58406 tonnes comprising 44657 tonnes imports and 13749 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 1638 TEUs was handled at the port during the last 24 hours.
