The ongoing Twitter feud between pop singer Lady Gaga and blogger Perez Hilton ignited this Monday, when Hilton was spotted at her apartment building. She got wind of Hilton’s activities after a fan alerted her on twitter earlier that morning.
Gaga tweeted on Sunday, “STAY AWAY FROM ME + MY FAMILY YOU ARE SICK TRYING TO RENT AN APARTMENT IN MY BUILDING TO STALK ME. LEAVE ME ALONE!!!”
Later that day the ‘Poker Face’ singer also wrote, “DO I NEED TO BE SHOT IT IN THE HEAD FOR PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND THAT HIM AND EVERYONE ELSE THAT HARASSES ME HAS GONE TOO FAR? IM A HUMAN BEING.”
And when her fans began to tear into Perez, Gaga tweeted, “Please monsters do not be affected by someone like this NOTHING merits this kind of hatred. I’m ok & I always survive. Ignore him. Just Dance.”
In response the blogger announced yesterday that he was moving to New York with his newborn son, mum and dog.
“I love New York and that is where me and my growing family want to call home right now… My realtor showed us a list of possible apartments to rent. I learned only after the fact that Lady Gaga lives in one of the buildings we looked at, and she was across the country in Los Angeles when I viewed that building,” Hilton tweeted in response.
The tussle unfolded on social media on Friday when Hilton critiqued Gaga’s new single lamenting it “un relatable” and “a few steps backwards”. The cause of the rift is unclear but in addition to the alleged text message harassment, Hilton has been posting more negatively about Gaga over the past few weeks. In late July, the blogger reported a rumor that Gaga’s stylist abruptly quit because of her ‘insane’ wardrobe needs. Last week, Gaga also claimed he'd sent her snarky messages when she was confined to a wheelchair after she hurt her hip.
