COLOMBO: The Sri Lankan rupee edged down 0.04 percent to end at 130.65 per dollar on Tuesday, compared with Monday's close of 130.60 Thomson Reuters data showed, and analysts attributed the fall to dollar demand from importers.
The rupee has fallen 0.19 percent for the week mainly on importer dollar demand. It fell 3.12 percent in June as foreign investors pulled out of Sri Lankan treasury bonds due to a rise in US treasury yields on concern the Federal Reserve would soon start trimming its stimulus programme.
