Egypt's GASC seeks wheat for Aug. 10-20 shipment

CAIRO: Egypt's main wheat-buying agency, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC), set a tender on Monday to buy an unspecified amount of wheat from global suppliers for shipment Aug. 10-20.

The first international wheat tender by GASC since February comes amid a deep economic and financial crisis following two years of political turmoil that has eroded the country's hard currency reserves and made it difficult to arrange payment for needed food and fuel imports.
