KARACHI: Three ships carrying containers, wheat and edible oil were berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal, FAP Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal here on Monday, port sources said Tuesday.
Three more ships carrying containers, canola seed and edible oil also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 55% at the port on Tuesday where a total of six ships namely Julie Delmans, Sea Gull-D, Mighty Ocean, Reecon Emre, Al Soor II and Argent Daisy are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, cement, steel, wheat, diesel oil and edible oil respectively.
A cargo volume of 35,796 tonnes comprising 22,416 tonnes imports and 13,380 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 435 containers (TEUs) was handled at the port during the last 24 hours.
