KARACHI: Six ships carrying containers, chemical and edible oil were berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal on Thursday, port sources said here Friday.
One more ship carrying crude oil also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 85% at the Port on Friday where a total of nine ships namely Hammonia Pacificum, New Dehli Express, MSC Clementina, Mercy Wisdom, Denny-Z, Anette Kosan, MT Karachi, Atlantik Glory and Bunga Angsana are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, wheat, rice, chemical, furnace oil and edible oil respectively.
A cargo volume of 12,5472 tonnes comprising 87,268 tonnes imports and 38,204 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 2,732 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during the last 24 hours.
