00-28SYDNEY: The Australian dollar rose half a cent on Friday, climbing off four-month lows, following upbeat comments from the governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia.

 

The Aussie jumped as high as $1.0309, from $1.0237 in early trade, having fallen sharply overnight to four-month lows of $1.0021.

 

It was last at $1.0290.
