MOSCOW: Oil output at Russia's second-largest crude producer LUKOIL declined 1 pct to 89.9 million tonnes last year, as the company struggled to stem falls in production at its much-depleted West Siberia deposits, the company said on Friday.
LUKOIL, highly exposed to mature fields in West Siberia, registered its third annual oil production decline in a row, however, last year's decrease slowed down from a 5 percent fall in 2011.
Earlier this month, Energy Ministry said LUKOIL production in Russia decreased 1 percent to 84.62 million tonnes.
LUKOIL's Friday figures include production at its international projects in countries such as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
The company also said its refining volumes edged down to 53.0 million tonnes last year from a reported 53.5 million tonnes in 2011.
