The Stones play 50 songs in five days

KARACHI: The Rolling Stones marked 50 years in music by playing 50 songs in five days at rehearsals in the run up to the opening today at a free exhibition for photographers at Somerset House, which features pictures from all through the band’s career.

The legendary “Wild Horses” group got back in the studio in the US earlier this week to begin preparations for their 50th anniversary. Guitarist Ronnie Wood said the rehearsals have been "brilliant" so far.

Speaking at the opening of “Rolling Stones 50, A Photographic Exhibition”, at Somerset House in London, Ronnie told BANG Showbiz: "We had a good play in New York five days ago, we did 50 songs in five days, and it was brilliant."

Vocalist Sir Mick Jagger admitted he is surprised about the group who are completed by drummer Charlie Watts and guitarist Keith Richards, getting back in the studio, but he is "really happy" about the band’s preparations for their 50th anniversary.

He said, "It feels really good, if a little long in the tooth, I’m just kidding. It’s quite surprising, it does seem a long time, but I’m really happy about it."
