vehicle onlineKARACHI: Sindh minister for excise and taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said that his department has initiated the process of online verification of vehicles registered in Sindh to facilitate people.

Inaugurating a data procession center at his office here Monday he said now the vehicles registered in Sindh province could be verified online form any part of the country.

He said the process would not only facilitate police and CPLC but also help in controlling vehicle theft. He said single registration number plates would be issued to rickshaws and motorcycles.

These number plates would illuminate in night time, helping in checking road accidents. He said now the vehicle registration record is preserved at three different places so that it could be saved in case of any mishap.

He said his department against a target of Rs23billion has succeeded in the recovery of Rs25billion, which is a record. He said soon a system to pay tax through credit cards would be launched to facilitate taxpayers.
