Shipping activity at Port Qasim

container6 400KARACHI: Ship handling activity remained active at the Port Qasim where three ships C.V Just Trader, C.V Star Masaya and M.T Al-Soor-II carrying containers and diesel oil were berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal and FOTCO oil Terminal respectively on Thursday.

Meanwhile five more ships with containers, palm oil and chemicals oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy remained at the Port Qasim at 43% on Thursday where ships namely C.V Just Trader, M.V Ocean Prince, M.V Rainbow Fairy, M.V Star Masaya, M.T SC Taipoi and M.T Al-Soor-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, fertilizer palm oil and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling activity was observed upward trend at the Port Qasim on Thursday where a cargo volume of 117,313 tonnes, comprises 85,852 tonnes imports and 31,561 tonnes exports, inclusive containerized cargo carried in 2,354 containers (1,080 imports and 1,274 exports TEUs) were handled during last 24 hours.

Containers vessel 'Just Trader' sailed out to sea on Friday morning at 06:30 hours, while four more ships C.V Ocean Prince, M.V Star Masaya, M.T SC Taipei and M.T Al-Soor-II expected to sail on same day afternoon.

Five ships C.V Safmarine Ngami, C.V Tempa Bay, M.T Bam Chin, M.T Chemroad Vega and M.T Sunrise Wisteria carrying containers, palm oil and chemicals are expected to take berths at QICT, MW-I, LCT and EVTL respectively on Friday.

M.V BBC Kusan is due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday, 23rd June while another ship C.V Maersk Kentucky is due to arrive on Sunday.
