HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks ended the morning session 1.19 percent higher on Friday as optimism over the US economic outlook outweighed concerns about the Middle East crisis.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index gained 275.89 points to 23,398.31 on turnover of $39.73 billion ($5.10 billion).
