  • Taylor Swift said her performance at the upcoming music Awards is in doubt because she is being barred from performing her own songs.
  • She has urged his fans to speak up about the issue.

Celebrities and fans have been publicly showing their support for Taylor Swift after she revealed she has been banned from performing her own songs by the man who bought her back catalog and her record label.

Swift took to social media to tell fans that Scott Borchetta, her former label head at Big Machine Records, and his new partner Scooter Braun are trying to nix her plans for a retrospective performance at the American Music Awards (AMA), as well as denying the use of her recordings for her Netflix documentary.

Scooter controversially bought her label this summer and acquired rights to Swift's old music.

“American Music Awards will be honoring me with the Artist of the Decade award at this year’s ceremony. I’ve been planning to perform a medley of my hits throughout the decade on the show. Scott and Scooter have now said that I’m not allowed to perform my old songs on TV,” she wrote.

She further made a big announcement in a rather worst way possible, saying, “Netflix has created a documentary about my life for the past few years. Scott and Scooter have declined the use of my older music or performance footage for this project, even though there is no mention of either of them of Big Machine Records anywhere in the film”.

She has also urged his fans to speak up about the issue. Soon after her post, #IStandWithTaylor started to trend on Twitter and fans have been showing their support to the songstress.  Scooter and label boss Scott has also faced death threats from the Taylor fans on Thursday night after Swift attempted to force them to rethink their decision.
