KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port during the last 24 hours where three ships carrying containers and chemical were allotted berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Thursday, port sources said Friday.
One more ship scheduled to load/ offload containers also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 85% at the Port on Friday where total number of nine ships namely MV. Nora Maersk, CGM Verdi, Sea Guild, MV. Hiba Al Nour-B, MV. Mercy Wisdom, Asphalt Merchant, Ikan Bayan and MV.
Harsanadi are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, cement, wheat, butman, canola seed chemical and furnace oil respectively.
A cargo volume of 78,789 tonnes, comprising 56,794 tonnes imports and 21,995 tonnes exports was handled inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 1393 containers (Boxes) at the Port during the last 24 hours.
