LONDON: European stock markets steadied at the start of trading on Wednesday, a day after posting heavy falls, with London's FTSE 100 index down 0.14 percent to 5,757.77 points.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 edged up 0.08 percent to 6,638.48 points and in Paris the CAC 40 rose 0.05 percent to stand at 3,364.13.
