Arthur says Abid Ali, Mohammad Hasnain are the finds of the series

Despite suffering a 5-0 whitewash, Pakistan cricket head coach Mickey Arthur has stated that the discovery of batsman Abid Ali and speedster Mohammad Hasnain were the positives for the Men in Green in their series against Australia.

"The positives I take from the series was that we hit five hundreds and we found a batsman and one young quick bowler. Those guys will certainly come into the mix and they'll be in our reckoning going forward," said Arthur, at the conference.

A number of players made their debut for Pakistan during the series; Abid Ali was one of the finds who hit a century in his debut against Australia. Whereas, fast bowler Mohammad Hasnian also showcased his bowling prowess picking up two wickets in the series.

Giving out his reasoning behind Pakistan’s move to rest six players, Arthur said that the move was a necessity as want their key players fit and fresh before the World Cup.

"Nobody wants to be whitewashed, of course it's an issue. But again, we knew what we had to do. We couldn't play our full strength side here, those guys have played since Sep 12th and they needed a mental and physical break.

"We had the option of either resting them in the PSL or in this series. That was our dilemma," he added.
