Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday criticised PML-N leader Shahbaz Sharif for wasting huge amount of public money in the name of development projects. "Where is the huge amount of Rs 350 billion spent on development of Lahore?" Khan questioned while briefly talking to media during his visit to rain-affected areas of Lahore.
Accompanied by Jehangir Khan Tareen, Aleem Khan and Dr Yasmeen Rashid, Imran Khan visited Laxami Chowk and GPO Chowk to monitor the situation after heavy rains in the city. Khan criticised Shahbaz's tall claims of 'good governance' and alleged misuse of public funds. "Is this is Paris as claimed by Shahbaz?" he asked. "Rains have also hit other countries but such a situation has never emerged."
Imran warned Shahbaz Sharif not to come out as the situation of Lahore is worst after rains. About Lahore Orange Metro Train, he said proper feasibility of the project was not carried out. "The whole project was initiated in a hurry in a bid to get positive results in elections but the rain has exposed the whole state of affairs."
Imran Khan had to reach Karachi for a two-day visit to run an election campaign, however, he could not pursue the plan due to heavy rains that started in the wee hours of Tuesday. Imran had to stay in Lahore due to inclement weather. In Karachi, Khan was scheduled to address rallies in constituencies of PTI candidates Dr Amir Liaqat Hussain, Ali Zaidi, Saifur Rehman and other including NA-243.
