A mixed trend in prices of essential food commodities was witnessed, as some daily use items have slightly decreased, while other remained unchanged in retail market, according to a survey conducted by Business Recorder here on Sunday.
A slight increase in price of chicken was witnessed in retail market as available at Rs 214 per kilogram against the price of Rs 210 per kilogram in the previous week, the survey noticed. However, price of a dozen of eggs was remained unchanged as available at Rs 100-90.
Similarly, beef is being sold at Rs 350-400 per kilogram against the official rate of Rs 300 per kilogram in retail market, while mutton is available at Rs 750-800 per kilogram, the survey said. Similarly, it noticed that a litre of fresh milk is available at Rs 120 against the official price of Rs 90 per litre, while yogurt is being sold at Rs 120 per kilogram against the official rate of Rs 80 per kilogram in the retail market.
According to the survey, one-kilogram red flour is being sold at Rs 45, meda at Rs 50 per kilogram and fine aata is being sold at Rs 48 per kilogram in retail market. Sugar priced in retail market at Rs 54 per kilogram against the rate of Rs 55 per kilogram in the previous week.
According to the survey, Gram flour (baisen) being available at Rs 120 per kilogram. Good quality (sela) rice was being sold at Rs 145 per kilogram while other at Rs 135 per kg. Tota rice is available at Rs 70 per kilogram which was being sold at Rs 75 per kilogram in the previous week.
Price of one-kilogram dal mash has been decreased at Rs 120-110 which was being sold at Rs 140 per kilogram in retail market. Dal channa is available at Rs 100 against the rate of Rs 120 per kilogram. Dal masoor is being sold at Rs 80 per kg, which was selling at Rs 90 per kilogram in the retail market.
Similarly, the price of dal chilka (green) went down at Rs 110 from Rs 120 per kilogram. However, the price of dhoti dal remained unchanged as available at Rs 90 per kg. Red bean is available at Rs 120-110 per kilogram, which was selling at Rs 140 per kilogram in the previous week. The price of the big-size white channa has decreased at Rs 140-150 from Rs 160 per kilogram in the retail market.
Likewise, a one-kilogram white lobiya is being sold at Rs 120 per kilogram. Red bean is being sold at Rs 140 per kilogram. The retail price of One-kilogram moong is Rs 120, while dal chilka (black) colour is being sold at Rs 140 per kilogram.
According to the survey, the prices of different brands/quality of cooking oil/ghee were remained stable in retail market as no significant increase or change was witnessed in the previous week, as available within range of Rs 120, Rs 140, Rs 165 and Rs 175 per litre/kilo in retail market.
The survey witnessed that the prices of vegetable was remained unchanged in the retail market A one-kilogram tomato is being sold at Rs 30 per kilogram, while onion is available at Rs 30-40 per kilogram in retail market. A one-kilogram garlic was available at Rs 100-120, while ginger being sold at Rs 200 per kilogram.
However, the price of cucumber had gone down at Rs 40-35 per kilogram which was being sold at Rs 50 per kilogram during last week. Price of one-kilogram lemon has been decreased at Rs 80 from Rs 100 per kg. Green chilli is being sold at Rs 80 per kilogram.
Likewise, arvi is available at Rs 40 per kg which was selling at Rs 50 per kilogram in the previous week in retail market, ladyfinger at Rs 50 per kilo against the price of Rs 70 per kilogram, capsicum at Rs 80 per kilogram against the price of Rs 120 per kilogram in the previous week.
A slight decrease in prices of fruits has witnessed in retail market during previous week as compared to the last week. According to the survey, mango is being sold at Rs 100-80 per kilogram, which was selling at Rs 120-150 per kilogram in the previous week.
Green coloured apple available at Rs 80 per kilo, while red-coloured is being sold at Rs 200-150 per kilogram in retail market. Melon is being sold at Rs 40 per kilogram which was selling at Rs 50 per kilo during the previous week. Apricot is being sold at Rs 100-110 per kilogram in the retail market, which was available at Rs 150 per kilogram in the previous week.
A one-kilogram plum is being available at Rs 120-150 in retail market. Litchi is being available at Rs 250-300 per kilogram. Grapes are being sold at Rs 200-150 per kilogram. Peach is being sold at Rs 120 per kilogram.
