Former Chief Secretary Fazlur Rehman has been named as caretaker chief minister Sindh as consensus was developed between the treasury and opposition on his appointment after a lingering deadlock over the issue. Outgoing Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah announced his name at a press conference at midnight between Thursday and Friday, according to Aaj News.
Shah said they sat together and had written many names. "Between 25 and 30 names were under consideration and finally we agree on Fazlur Rehman for caretaker chief minister," Murad Shah said, adding that it was a Constitutional requirement and they felt them under obligation to decide it.
