KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Hussain Wassan has taken stern notice of the incidents of killings in the metropolis.
A statement here on Thursday said that he has directed the police to arrest those involved in these killings and bring them to justice.
It said that the Minister summoned the DIG Karachi South and other police officers and directed that those involved in the killings be arrested.
The minister said that Karachi was a business and commercial hub besides a centre of education.
He stated that those who mar the peace in the city were in fact conspiring to deprive the people from such opportunities.
However, Wassan made it clear that the government would frustrate the machinations of such elements with the support of the people.
He pointed out that during the past seven to eight months, the religious events and festivals passed off peacefully.
The minister said that to curb the target killings, there was a need to bring in the required changes in the strategy.
He further stated that there should be more coordination between the Rangers and the Police in this regard.
Wassan told the police officers that they should personally monitor the steps for the maintenance of peace while remaining in the field.
