Kissan Board Pakistan (KBP) Central President Chaudhry Nisar has urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the Supreme Court to take notice of pre-poll rigging by the rulers. "Usage of wheat purchase centers and local body institutions for advertisement of its candidates is pre-poll rigging and electoral terrorism," Nisar said while talking to different delegations of the farmers here on Monday.
He alleged that millions of rupees allocated for Ramazan package are being used for advertisement of the ruling party and its candidates. Big flex and hoardings have been displayed at prominent places to project the ruling party. He also alleged that subsidized items available in Ramazan Bazaars are being given to the supporters of the ruling party only. He expressed his apprehension that major chunk of the Ramazan package will either be misappropriated by the bureaucracy or will be spent on advertisement of the ruling party and masses will not get any relief.
Similarly, he said, major chunk of gunny bags issued by the wheat purchase centers were given to either members of the ruling party or their near and dear ones. He said that middle men were also being favoured during the wheat purchase campaign while common grower is forced to sell its produce at lower rate in the open market.
He also said that the government should have taken the issue of Kishan Ganga Dam to the international platforms besides imposing a water emergency in the country.
