Reacting to PTI's plan of 100 days, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif Monday said those who are talking about 100 days are befooling the masses. Talking to the media-persons after the inauguration of the Punjab Institute of Neurosciences (PIN) here at Lahore General Hospital (LGH), Shahbaz said that those who are talking about 100 days could do it as an opportunity was provided to them by Almighty Allah. However, we have achieved all such targets in different sectors by introducing far-reaching reforms, he said, adding: "The claimants of 100 days have ruined the KPK in five years." Those who claimed of producing electricity for KPK and rest of the country have, in fact, generated minus six megawatts electricity during the last five years, he added.
He said the recent UNDP report is self explanatory as Punjab is leading the other provinces with regard to development. However, the journey is long and we have to reach to the destination by working day and night, he added.
To another question, he said that mental treatment is beyond to him but he can definitely teach that how superb institutions are developed; how resources are utilized in a right way and how hard work is done.
To a question about load-shedding and energy projects, he said that duration of load-shedding was reached to 20 hours a day in 2013 and during this period, electricity remained unavailable even during the times of Sehri, Iftar and Namaz-e-Taraweeh. The situation is diametrically opposed today with regard to load-shedding, he added. The darkness of load-shedding has been rapidly depleted due to the continuous efforts of the PML-N government, he added.
He said that network of best hospitals has been spread in the province and a latest institution has been set up in the provincial metropolis for the treatment of kidney and liver diseases. Similarly, six hospitals of 100-beds capacity each have been constructed during one and a half years in Kahana Nau, Badian, Raiwind, Sabzazar and other areas.
After the inauguration, Shahbaz visited different wards and inquired after the health of the patients and asked about the medical facilities. On the occasion, the Chief Minister was told that ten-storey building of Punjab Institute of Neurosciences has been constructed with a cost of Rs 3 billion. It's a 500-beded facility including 100-beds emergency while two neuro-theaters will work round-the-clock to cope with emergencies. The eight operation theaters will provide different facilities under one roof and most modern 3 Tesla MRI and 128 slice CT scan machines have been installed as well. Biometric, infection- control, theaters' automation and pharmacy management systems have been introduced in the PIN while round-the-clock CCTV monitoring system has been placed for continuous monitoring of cleanliness and security situation.
