The overall crime rate registered an upward trend in the federal capital during the last week, as over 11 cases of various kinds of thefts, five cases of car lifting, three cases of kidnapping and one murder case were reported to various police stations of the city. According to data gathered by Business Recorder here on Saturday, most 'favourite' areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Shalimar and Karachi Company police stations during the last week.
During the aforementioned period, Shalimar police station registered two cases of kidnapping and one case each of robbery and auto theft. One Hajra Khattak informed Shalimar police station that accused Amal Khan kidnapped his son Rashid. In another incident, one Muhammad Haroon filed a complaint with Shalimar police station that his relative Muhammad Wali was kidnapped by unknown persons.
One Muhammad Ahmad informed Shalimar police station that unknown persons stole two cell phones and one wrist watch from his home. The auto thieves stole a bike BR-878 of Asif Mehmood from the limits of the same police station. During the period, Karachi Company police station registered one case each of auto theft, robbery and kidnapping. The thieves stole a bike bearing registration number SP-419 of Umber Abid.
Another Umer Javed filed a complaint with Karachi Company police station that unknown robbers stole cash and a cell phone from his house. One Muhammad Naeem filed a complaint with Karachi Company police station that unknown persons kidnapped his servant namely Shahid. Shahzad Town police station registered two cases of robbery during the aforementioned period. One Muhammad Hussain filed a complaint that unknown robbers stole cash and gold ornaments from his house.
In another incident, one Muhammad Naveed informed Shahzad Town police station that cash has been stolen from his shop and one Asif might be involved in it. Khanna police station registered one case each of robbery and auto theft during the last week. One Ubaidullah filed a complaint with Khanna police station that two unknown armed persons snatched cash from him. The auto thieves stole a bike (MB-9552) of one Siraj Ahmad. During the period under review, Nilor, Industrial Area and Aabpara police stations registered one case each of robbery, while Bani Gala police station registered one case of kidnapping.
