Copter misuse, land lease: PPP leaders demand arrest of Imran, Khattak before inquiries
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) lawmakers have urged National Accountability Bureau to arrest Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan and Chief Minister Pervez Khattak before conducting the inquiries into cases pertaining to misuse of helicopter, land lease in Malam Jabba and other mega projects. Speaking at a joint press conference at Peshawar Press Club on Saturday Senator Bahramand Khan Tangi, MPA Ziaullah Afrdi said that the funds meant for development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were going into pockets of the PTI leadership but they were not arrested.
"PPP leaders in Sindh are arrested for inquiries and the PTI leaders are also facing inquiries in many cases but no has so far been taken against them," he said and added that the corruption cases relating to misuse of helicopter, Bank of Khyber, Billion Tree Tsunami were of serious nature and NAB should recover the national wealth from the relevant people.
He said that PTI leadership should prepare itself for going to jail instead of becoming into power. He said it was only the PPP leadership which could steer the country out crisis. He said graph of PPP was fast growing up and it would form government in center and all the provinces to serve the people in a befitting manner.
Similarly, Ziaullah Afrdi said that the CM claimed to have released one billion rupees for Peshawar and thus attempted to misguide the people. The PPP lawmaker said that the one billion rupees was part of his constituency's ADP which was stopped by the CM to take political revenge from him. However the funds were released on an order by Peshawar High Court on his (Zia's) request and the CM had nothing to do with it.
