HRW wheat bids steady

Cash spot basis bids for hard red winter (HRW) wheat in the southern US Plains were generally steady on Wednesday, but rose in Goodland, Kansas sparked by increased demand, merchants said. The Chicago Board of Trade's K.C. March HRW wheat futures contract at 12:46 pm CST (1846 GMT) rose 5-1/4 cents at $4.25-1/4 per bushel, as bitter cold temperatures in the Plains threaten dormant winter wheat plants. Protein premiums on for wheat delivered by railcar to or through Kansas City were steady.
