fort-pakistanISLAMABAD: An exhibition of exceptional ceramic art on architectural heritage of Pakistan “Silent Whispers” is underway here at Nomad Art Gallery by Jamil Hussain till February 11.

The show depicts plight of the architectural heritage of Pakistan through a unique medium seldom used before while exquisite pieces of ceramic art portray various historical buildings as ancient treasures in terracota sculptures with delicate details in cuts and curves.

The unique exhibition of ceramics by the talented Lahore based artist is dedicated to preserving our built heritage, "Mit Na Jayain Kahin".

The artist dramatizes silent cries of the buildings and call for conservation of this historical treasure in its true form.

According to the artist, these monuments gave shelter to our past and now they narrate the stories of past linking them to present.

"Pakistan has a rich and spectacular built heritage, both historical and contemporary, this exhibition is about the ability to hear the voice of agony and pain that is around us in the form of historical memorials," said Jamil Hussain.

It is an attempt to create awareness about the deterioration and destruction of the marvelous heritage that is living history.

"Preservation and promotion of cultural heritage is instrumental in maintaining the identity of a nation. Pakistan's rich heritage starts from streets and towns and reaches to forts, grand mosques, mausoleums and majestic Havelies," Jamil said.

Jamil has selected some dilapidated and forgotten elements of monuments which are being neglected by the present generation, said Nageen Hyat, Director Nomad while talking to APP.

Through soft language of art, the show will be an awareness to save this heritage for future generations, she said.
