Skipper Chaman Hayatullah Khan scored the sole goal for his team and celebrated the victory in the first semi-final against Quetta City in the Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) Balochistan Football Cup 2017, while Panjgur won the second semi-final against DFA Quetta and reached the finals.
The jam-packed Ayub Stadium in Quetta saw two back-to-back semi-finals thoroughly enjoyed by the large audience, which proved as how sports bring people together. The tournament played in six divisions of Balochistan along with the Final Round in Quetta, brought a healthy competitive nature encompassed by a sense of camaraderie.
Chaman in white versus green Quetta City match went without any score till the last minute's magic moments, when Hayatullah struck a kick into opponent's goal post making the scores 1-0, and qualified for the finals. Chaman was the runner-up of last year's tournament. Hayatullah was declared the Man of the Match and received the prize from Deputy Managing Director PPL, Moin Raza Khan.
Panjgur wearing yellow played a dominating game right from the beginning against DFA Quetta in red. Both teams scored one goal each in the first half with an equalized result, while in the second half Panjgur's Shaukat Baloch came with a powerful run from inside his own half ended with striking a kick against the opponent's post taking a lead for his side making the score 2-1. Panjgur gave a consistent outstanding performance throughout the tournament this year. Baloch was the Man of Match and received prize from Deputy Managing Director PPL, Muhammad Rafiq Vohra. The final will be played on April 2 at the Ayub Stadium, Quetta and will be telecast live on a private channel.-PR
