Punjab government striving to ensure human rights to foster peace: minister
Provincial Minister for Human Rights & Minorities Affairs Khalil Tahir Sindhu has said though the Constitution of Pakistan grants human rights to all the human beings yet there is a dire need of change in the attitudes of people for fruitful results. The Minister was speaking at the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Regional Office on Monday. He said the government is striving to ensure human right protection to foster equality, peace, unity and harmony among all segments.
He appreciated the ideas and views exchanged in the meeting and assured his full support and co-operation. The action plan for human rights approved in February 2016 is being implemented in letter and spirit to further improve human rights situation in the country, he added. Regional Chairman and Vice President FPCCI Manzoor-ul-Haq Malik said the situation of human rights in Pakistan is very upsetting. "We need to establish a society that is purely based on freedom, peace, and justice."
