United Kingdom will arrange a pictorial exhibition on time-tested relations of Pakistan and UK in collaboration with Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI), said Martin Robinson, second Political Secretary of the British High Commission in Islamabad.
In a meeting with Ahmed Hassan Vice President FCCI, he underlined the importance of friendly relations between the two countries and hope that this relationship will further grow in the coming years. Anna Donnelly, second Political Secretary and Farhan Shah Political Research Officer of the political Section of the UK High Commission were also present during this meeting.
Engineer Ahmed Hassan briefed them about the importance of Faisalabad in the overall economy of Pakistan. He told that Pakistan is earning 13 billion dollar per annum from the exports of textile and out of it share of Faisalabad is around 55 percent.
He told that the international institutions are very pragmatic about the future growth of Faisalabad. He told that these institutions have predicted that this city will attain 8 percent GDP growth during the coming years which clearly indicates the economic importance of this vibrant city. He told that a handsome number of youth belong to elite class is highly qualified from leading developed countries and is fully competent to face the emerging economic challenges. He told that "Interlope" has prepared a comprehensive plan to involve this educated youth in national mainstream. He hoped that their involvement will yield positive results within coming 5 to 10 years.
He also mentioned China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and said that it will further enhance the industrial as well as economic importance of Faisalabad. Many Chinese investors are visiting Faisalabad to explore business opportunity in M-3 industrial estate developed by Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FEDMIC). He told that they are negotiating with Pakistani investors to launch new viable and high tech projects. These projects will not only create new job opportunities but also enhance the quality of Pakistani products. He was optimistic about the industrial stability and told that the industrial production of Faisalabad could be doubled just within the next 5 to 10 years as the infra structure was already available and energy crisis was also over.
Ahmed Hassan welcomed the proposal to arrange pictorial Exhibition by UK High Commission and assured to provide space for this event in FCCI.
