FPBC, UMT sign LoA

Finland Pakistan Business Council (FPBC) and University of Management and Technology (UMT) on Wednesday signed a Letter of Agreement (LoA) for long-term co-operation towards the development of education in Pakistan. According to an announcement of the FPBC here on Wednesday, UMT becomes the exclusive Premier Education Partner of FPBC for 2017.Dr HasanSohaibMurab, Rector of UMT and Wille Eerola, Chairman of FPBC signed the Letter of Agreement today in Lahore.
"By International standards of the United Nation's Human Development Education Index and Programme for International Student Assessment(PISA), Finland has one of the best education systems in the world. It's our great pleasure to be part of the process where for the first time ever a leading Pakistani university and leading Finnish academic institutions will work together", says Wille Eerola, Chairman of Finland Pakistan Business Council and Honorary Consul General of Pakistan for Finland. "We believe that this wide form of co-operation will cultivate plenty of opportunities for the youth of Pakistan and we are excited to be the catalyst for such a unique co-operation".
"The partnership of UMT in the consortium of multilevel and multidimensional institutions would take care of strengthening and expanding transfer of knowledge and technology for the advancement of industry and businesses. UMT would receive utmost co-operation from all academic institutions and hopefully it would become nexus for deepening co-operation between Pakistani and Nordic universities", says Dr .Hasan Sohaib Murab, Rector of UMT.
FPBC and University of Management and Technology together, will host several events on educational development during the year of 2017, in addition to concrete projects implementing the Finnish school system in Pakistan.
The first major event will be hosted at the next Nordic Pakistan Business Summit (NPBS), held in Helsinki, Finland on January 19th, 2017. University of Management and Technology is also one of the main sponsors of the NPBS events in 2017, first in Helsinki in January and then in Lahore in April. "This is great way to encourage education-industrial linkages in Pakistan", adds Hassan Raza, Co-Chairman of FPBC and NPBS, "We are thrilled to have UMT with us for the next two events, to explore Finland's Best Case Practices and effectively avail opportunities in the Pakistani business arena".
Finland Pakistan Business Council was established in Finland already in 1985 and it is one of the oldest Pakistan Business Councils in the world. FPBC is an independent, non-profit, and non-governmental organisation operating in both Finland and Pakistan to develop, facilitate and monitor relationship in business, education, culture and arts between Finland and Pakistan.-PR
