Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)-London had set up 'silent units' to be in direct contact with its workers in Karachi after MQM-Pakistan had distanced itself from party founder after his August 22 anti-Pakistan speech, a News channel learnt on Tuesday.
According to sources, the units were established in Landhi, Shah Faisal Colony, Nazimabad and Mehmoodabad. A government institute has listed 210 active members of MQM-London in the port city and has also advised relevant authorities to take action, it was further revealed. On August 23, MQM Pakistan had distanced itself from controversial anti-Pakistan statements made by the party leadership in London, with Deputy Convener Farooq Sattar taking control of the party leadership. Sattar had said that future party decisions would be made by the MQM Rabita Committee in Pakistan.
On October 23, MQM Pakistan leadership expelled 11 members from the party fold, advising workers to not keep any contact with them. The MQM Pakistan Rabita Committee revoked the membership of 11 affiliates for violating party discipline and expelled them from the party.
