Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has vowed zero tolerance against terrorism and directed for focussed and indiscriminate operations against terrorists of all kinds in co-ordination with intelligence and law enforcement agencies (LEAs). Addressing a briefing in Quetta on Tuesday, the Chief of Army Staff expressed the resolve to ensure foolproof security arrangements for China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
According to ISPR, the Army Chief visited headquarters of Southern Command where a briefing was given to him on operational preparedness of the command, overall security situation in Balochistan and ongoing stabilisation operations. The Army Chief said the military would render all necessary assistance to the provincial government for restoration of peace in the province and capacity building of the LEAs, besides providing security to all projects in remote areas.
He commended the FWO and NLC for developing a road network in the province and stressed the need for further accelerating development projects to ensure greater connectivity for the masses. He commended the Army, Frontier Corps, LEAs and intelligence agencies for noticeable improvement in the law and order in the province. He particularly lauded the support and sacrifices of the people of Balochistan for restoration of peace in the province. Qamar Javed Bajwa appreciated the integrated approach adopted by the Army and the civil government.
