LHC moved against Lahore mayor elections

A Bar member has approached the Lahore High Court seeking stay against the upcoming election of Lahore mayor. Petitioner, Sheraz Zaka, contended in his application that a petition challenging qualification of Khwaja Ahmad Hassaan, likely candidate of PML-N for Lahore mayor, is already been pending before the court. He contended that the election of Khawaja Hassaan from UC 107 is also under challenge before the court. He therefore asked the court to stay the election proceedings of mayor Lahore scheduled on December 22.
