Pakistan 257 all out in second Test

ABU DHABI: Pakistan were bowled out for 257 on the second morning of the second Test against England here at theSheikh Zayed Stadium on Thursday.

England just required 16 balls to finish off Pakistan's first innings on day two of the second Test in Abu Dhabi. Pakistan added only 1 run from Misbah-ul-Haq to their overnight score or 256 for 7 before his patient inning was ended on 84 by Stuart Broad. Asad Shafiq was the second big scorer with 58.

England were pleased by their effort in the morning resulting in a collapsed Pakistan tailender without adding a run. Junaid Khan edged his third ball to Graeme Swann at second slip on James Anderson's ball.

Broad looked different from the early part of last season. Broad, who willfully banged the ball in short of a length, found himself in a bad-mannered moment when he could not complete his 5-wicket haul. But despite that he finished with 4 for 47 after one of his most consistent and mature bowling displays for England.

Broad consistently focused on attacking the stumps with method and aggression earning him with the wicket of Misbah in the first over of the day. Misbah was late on a full ball resulting in an lbw and as Pakistan's last remaining specialist batsmen turned to DRS, it followed the umpire's decision causing loss of review and Pakistan skipper.

Anderson then also plumbed Saeed Ajmal, who collapsed as a weak Pakistan tail. The onset of DRS has sent lbw decisions soaring with around 40 percent of dismissals falling in this manner so far in 2012.
