HONG KONG: Hong Kong shares rose 1.16 percent on Thursday morning as traders returning from a long Lunar New Year holiday played catch-up with this week's regional gains.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 232.34 points to 20,342.71 on turnover of HK$29.79 billion ($3.8 billion).
