TORONTO: Canada's resource-heavy stock index hit a near 11-week high on Monday, led by gains in commodity and financial shares as the euro climbed on investor optimism that a deal may be reached on a Greek debt restructuring package.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index unofficially closed up 124.60 points, or 1.01 percent, at 12,521.70. It rose as high as 12,530.28, its highest point since Nov. 8.
