SHANGHAI: Chinese shares rose 0.25 percent in morning trade Thursday, tracking gains on Wall Street overnight, but investors remained cautious ahead of a week-long holiday, dealers said.
The Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, added 5.72 points to 2,272.10.
China will celebrate the Lunar New Year, also called the Spring Festival, next week with the stock market to re-open on January 30.
