Farmers must save rain water in rain-fed areas

LAHORE: Growers have been advised to save rain water in rain-fed areas as water is essential for the proper growth of crops.

A spokesman of the department said on Monday that in rain fed areas crops are dependent on rains so farmers must stay vigilant and keep monitoring the weather predictions.

"It is important to save rain water and to use it in an appropriate way to achieve successful yield of different crops in rain fed areas", he added.

He said that two third portion of annual rain occur in summers so growers should practice the recommended methods to save the rain water.
