SC rejects plea of PPP's Ameer Imrani to contest election

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) Monday rejected the plea of Ameer Imrani, a candidate from Balochistan to contest election for provincial assembly.

The court also rejected the Ameer Imrani's appeal of re-examination. A three members bench presided over by the Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar heard the plea of Ameer Imrani a candidate from Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

During the proceeding, the counsel of Ameer Imrani requested the court to award permission to Ameer Imrani for contesting election in PP12 till unveiling of decision by the court in this regard.

Mian Saqib Nisar while replying on the appeal said that re-examination plea of Ameer Imrani was not according to law, so he could not be granted permission.
