Pumped up Hasan Ali ready for Headingly Test

Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali is all set to take on England in the second Test at Headingley, despite feeling the effects of hand injury he suffered during a practice session ahead of the first Test at Lord’s.

“The injury I suffered on my hand was uncomfortable but there was no way I was going to let it miss the match at Lord's. Yes, there was some discomfort, but that pain soon disappears when you win. I'll be fine for Headingley, the injury is not a big issue now and it's not hampering me,” said Hasan, quoted FirstPost.

The speedster played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s success at Lord’s, picking up four wickets at the historic venue. Hasan accepted that the young Pakistan squad featuring five debutants, was not considered much of a threat ahead of the Test match.

“Yes, it's true that some people were saying England versus Pakistan was going to be men against boys, but whether it's men or boys, the winner is the one who performs best during the match. It's a great achievement to beat England at Lord's which is regarded as the Home of Cricket.”

Speaking about the strategies the bowlers implemented, Hasan said that there were no major plans but they knew the opposition batsmen's weaknesses. “I feel that as a cricketer it's all about learning from your mistakes and carrying that forward to the next match and beyond,” he said.

With the series 1-0 in favor of the visitors, the second Test would be played at Headingley, Leeds on June 1.
